Are you looking for ways to put your faith into action? Want to make a difference in your own community? Volunteer with nightlight!
Do you enjoy meeting people, spending time getting to know new people, having coffee and connecting with others?
Do you prefer hands on work? Have time to do minor repairs or a skill in plumbing, carpentry, or minor maintenance work?
Do you have time once a week to greet guests, or time once a month to help with cleaning and organizing?
There are many ways to volunteer with nightlight, both during normal operating hours, and throughout other times of the week. Whether you are an individual, a couple looking to serve together or a small group or house church that senses they should be ‘out there and involved’, contact us to discuss ways to move out of your living room and into the heart of the city! Below are just some of the opportunities to serve where our needs are the greatest, so check it out and contact us so we can give you information and talk about your best volunteer fit!
We look forward to having you join one of our teams!
(Please note that for safety reasons, those who volunteer with our guests must be 18+. High school students wishing to fulfill volunteer hours and families with younger children are more than welcome to help in the many other ways that nightlight could use assistance! Please contact us for more information.)

Volunteers join one of our weekly teams (on a night that suits your availability). Volunteers help to open up, share in the life of the community, and greet ‘guests’ who quickly become known as ‘friends.’ The goal is simple–to build meaningful relationships through playing games, sharing stories, enjoying beverages, and taking the time to relate to one another in a safe and healthy way! Contact the Executive Directors in Kingston (email@example.com) or Belleville (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
Volunteers offer their skill, knowledge, craft, expertise, etc. to help make and keep nightlight a first-class centre. When skills lack, a willing-heart is often enough! Volunteers drive every aspect of nightlight so we rely on people to clean, stock, repair, decorate, and generally ‘love’ in practical ways. Times are flexible. Commitment can be on-going or one-time. What is your passion? How might nightlight benefit from what you love to do naturally? Contact our director to discuss your thoughts and ideas!
Volunteers help in areas of administration. Some examples might include creating and preparing materials for various areas of need or designing and maintaining this lovely website! Time commitment is flexible. Training can be offered where skills need development. Contact us to discuss areas of immediate need.
Volunteers with the gift of intercession lead a team of committed people in the area of prayer. Regular meetings seek to cover the ministry in prayer and encouragement. Consider joining this team along with another as intimate participation helps one to pray with insight and passion!
If you’ve read this far and haven’t found a positive volunteer description that fits you, please contact our director. We are dedicated to finding a place for everyone. Perhaps we’ve overlooked something or perhaps we’re not thinking creatively enough! We’re open to ideas and to finding you a ‘fit’!
