Ride for Refuge

Join us on Saturday, October 2, 2021

Ride for Refuge (RFR) is a nation-wide fundraising event that supports charities who provide refuge and hope for displaced, vulnerable and exploited people everywhere. At nightlight Canada, we strive to address relational poverty, and provide a place of belonging and community. Through our drop-in centers, invaluable relationships are cultivated between volunteers and guests which grows and evolves into a network of caring friends and loveable community that becomes like a family!!

This year, we’re doing a choose-your-own-adventure. You can ride, walk, jump, skip, kayak, build, knit, paint, or whatever you can come up with to challenge yourself as a fund-raiser in support of our nightlight services. You can create your team and invite your favorite people – friends, family, neighbors – to join you for your challenge. It’s a fun chance to rally together, and support an important cause.

We are all struggling through the physical isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Friendship, human-connection and conversation are highly essential for our mental health and well-being. Sadly, there are many lonely and marginalized individuals in Ontario who are uncared and left to battle emotional and mental health on their own.  By choosing to support nightlight, you are ensuring a loving community to those who are longing for one during this time. You are gifting them with the precious gift of friendship!

RFR is our primary fundraising event of the year in the Cambridge area, and our secondary fundraising event in Belleville and Kingston (Coldest Night of the Year is our main event in those cities). Join us in standing up for the silent sufferers.
