Ride for Refuge

Join us on Saturday, October 3, 2020

Ride for Refuge (RFR) is a nation-wide fundraising events that supports charities who provide refuge and hope for displaced, vulnerable and exploited people everywhere. nightlight CanadaWe are a non-profit that strives to address relational poverty, and provide a place of belonging and community. Through our drop-in centres, invaluable relationships form between volunteers and guests, and grow into a network of caring friends.

This year, we’re doing a choose-your-own-adventure. You can ride, walk, jump, skip, kayak, build, knit, paint, or whatever you can come up with to challenge yourself as a fund-raiser in support of our nightlight services. You can create your team and invite your favourite people – friends, family, neighbours – to join you for your challenge. It’s a fun chance to rally together, and support an important cause.

We all experienced the difficulty of social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Friendship, human-connection and conversation are essential for our mental health and well-being. Sadly, there are many lonely and marginalized individuals in Ontario. By supporting nightlight, you are ensuring a loving community to those who need one. You are giving the gift of friendship.

RFR is our primary fundraising event of the year in the Cambridge area, and our secondary fundraising event in Belleville and Kingston (Coldest Night of the Year is our main event in those cities).
